Baeconandeggs Prompt Adoption

bacon & eggs

Welcome to the official Baekyeol fest and exchange! We hope that you loved and enjoyed BAE2023 and are interested in adopting a prompt that was left unclaimed. Prompt adoption will be available for the general public on June 14 – 30, 2023 KST.

Who can adopt during early adoption?
  • The early adoption period is any day before June 14, KST.
  • Early adoption is for drop-out participants (all participants from BAE2023 who dropped out) and were not able to finish due to circumstances. If they are willing to finish their story, then they are welcome to adopt their prompt.
  • WHY? We do not want give away the prompt that a BAE2023 writer may be finishing or intends to finish soon.
  • One prompt, one story.
  • If a drop-out participant does NOT email the mods before June 14, they are relinquishing the prompt back to BAE for open adoption.

Who can adopt during general adoption?

  • Anyone who is interested for a little summer project!

Adoption Rules

  • One prompt per claimer.
  • During early adoption, drop-out participants may only adopt the prompt they claimed in the last round and no other prompt.
  • Please be respectful of the preferences by the prompter.
  • We do not regulate word count for adoptions, but we hope you write at least 1,000 – 2,000 words!
  • When posting your work online, we request that you specify what the prompt # is and what year. [ For example: BAE0614 from BAE2021]
  • If you would like to know who your prompter is, contact us and we will provide you with that information if it is okay with the prompter.

Adoption Contract

  • All adopted prompts must be completely written and posted on or before NOVEMBER 27, 2023, KST.
  • Failure to finish and post on said date would mean forfeiture of the adopted prompt back to the BAE archive for the next round.
  • Upon finishing any adopted prompt, you can email/dm us with the link of your story so we can share it. BAE mods will advertise your finished work on Twitter unless you request that we do not.
  • Adopters are responsible for publishing their work.
  • Baeconandeggs will NOT post / re-post finished adopted prompts on any BAE platforms. We are reserved for yearly fest and exchange cycles.
  • When posting your work online, we request that you specify what the prompt # is and what year. [ For example: BAE614 from BAE2019]

Adoption Process

  1. Please fill out the form completely. Do not leave any blanks.
  2. Wait for the email confirmation from the mods.
  3. If you haven’t received any confirmation emails from us after two days from filling out the form, please send us an email.
  4. You may start writing upon receiving the email from us.
  5. Upon completion of your fic, send us a DM/email with the fic’s link so we may mark the prompt in our archive.
  6. We will share your fic’s link if you opt to.

Additional Notes

  • Between the months of July to October, we do not check our email regularly, so please make a note of that in case you have any questions or needs that require a quick response. It is best you try and contact BAE mods through Twitter.
  • Unlike the usual fest year, we do not regulate the work of those who are planning to adopt, meaning that we will not send scheduled emails asking about progress and submissions. Once a prompt has been adopted, the author may do as they please (with respect to the prompt and prompter). There is no official word count requirement or mandatory check-ins.
  • Any prompt adopted between BAE2023 and the beginning of BAE2024 is written outside of Baeconandeggs. The mods are not responsible for publishing the fics written for these prompts. We will share the finished work via our twitter if the writer wishes.
