Baeconandeggs was created in 2014 by Mod 1 and Mod 2. It has since become an annual writing fest revolving around Byun Baekhyun and Park Chanyeol of EXO with a strong community of little baecons!

MOD 2 : [ 2014 – current ] Team leader of all of BAE’s activities. Considers BAE their big baby.

Ghost!MOD : [ dead ] Mod 2’s hench-ghost. This ghostly figure sends most of the emails and runs a lot of errands.

What is baeconandeggs?
Baeconandeggs, or BAE, is an annual fanfic fest/exchange for the EXO pairing Byun Baekhyun and Park Chanyeol.

What is the difference between a fest and an exchange?

• Fest = a participant chooses an available prompt from the archives and will write it as soon as the mods have confirmed their choice.
• Exchange = a participant is given an assignment with three (or more) prompts to choose from that would match with his/her preference. In EXCHANGE, s/he will give three (or more prompts) that is to be given to another participant that would write those prompts.

Where can I find the prompts?
Prompts will be found in the current BAE year archives. Links to the archive will be provided on our website (and Twitter) as soon as it is made public. Please view our calendar for preview and release dates for the current year.

Who can submit prompts? Can I submit a prompt? How many prompts can I submit?
Anyone can submit prompts through our Google Form as long as it follows the rules and guidelines each person must read and abide by.

There is no limit to the number of prompts one (1) person can submit. You may find more information in the Prompting Guidelines.

Can I send a prompt self-prompt?
No. BAE does not accept self-prompts.

Do I have to write a story if I want to submit a prompt?
No. Prompting and writing are two separate activities. You can submit a prompt without participating in the writing portion. However, you are welcome to join as a writer as well.

Can I join even if I haven’t written before?
YES. We encourage anyone who would want to express their love for our favorite pairing, Baekhyun and Chanyeol, through writing. Every author that has been writing was once a first timer!

Can I put top/bottom preferences?
No. There must be no specification of dynamic preferences on the prompt or story information.

How to claim a prompt?
Claiming will open on November 27. Please refer to our calendar for official dates. We will post the claiming link via twitter/wordpress page. Fill up the form completely and accurately. Wait for the confirmation email that the mods will send.

What is Prompt Adoption? How do I adopt a prompt?
Prompt adoption occurs at the end of the fest year, typically after the closing post is made public with all participating writers being named. Afterwards, users are allowed to view the BAE archives and adopt a prompt they would like to write on their own free time. Applications must be submitted to the BAE Mods.

Additional promotion for finished works can be provided through the Baeconandeggs twitter account.

When do I get my confirmation email? When will I know what prompt I officially claimed?
The mods would usually send the confirmation in 6hrs, or within the day of your submission. If you haven’t received a confirmation within 2 days, please contact the mods.

When will I know my exchange assignment?
Please refer to the current BAE year calendar.

Can I ask my prompter/recipient questions?
Yes. However, since you have to be anonymous until reveals, the mods would be the one to relay your question to your prompter. You can send us your questions through email.

What is a beta reader?
A beta reader is someone who reads your work first to check for any missed spelling or grammar mistakes. Also, s/he can check your plot, characterization, and/or world building. S/he can also be your friend to hold your hand throughout the writing process! You may find more information in the Beta Reader Guide.

How do I get a beta reader?
BAE mods will pool together beta applicants near December for writers who would like to be assigned a beta to help with their work.

But if you have a friend who is willing to read for you, then you have a perfect match already! While it is not compulsory that you have a beta reader, we encourage you to have one. We know that you want to deliver the best that you can and any misspelling or wrong grammar may affect that. Also, having someone to cheer you during the writing process wouldn’t hurt!

What is a pinch hitter?
A pinch hitter is a writer who is willing to write a dropped prompt from the exchange within a shorter and limited amount of time.
