Welcome to Baeconandeggs!

Welcome to the official Baekyeol fic fest & exchange! Mods welcome all old and new baecons for the 10th round of BAE! We look forward to another wonderful year of love, laughter, fun, and (sometimes) tears. Before we begin, please take some time to read through this year’s rules and guidelines, including story ratings and tagging system. Please read over the rules and raise any questions/concerns you may have to us through email/twitter/cc!

RULES & GUIDELINES

During claiming period, if you claim a prompt that is available, the mods will respond to you via email and tell you that you have that prompt. The email that will be sent to you will be your confirmation email with included reminders for the check-in dates.

PROMPTING

CLAIMING
for the fest

  • Claiming begins November 27, 2023 and ends on December 30, 2023.
  • You may claim a prompt regardless of the platform you traditionally utilize to post/share your stories.
  • You must provide a valid email supplemented by an additional valid email and/or an active Twitter account.
  • We will ask for your preferred username, AO3 account (if you have one) or a link to your preferred profile (aff/lj/ao3/ffnet/etc).
  • When claiming, you must choose your top 3 choices. It must go in the order of desire. For instance, your first choice should be the prompt you would prefer to have over the other 2.
  • If you only have interest in one prompt, then you may leave the other choices blank.
  • Claiming will be a first-come-first serve system! No prompts will be reserved.

GENERAL RULES

  • BAE operates under Korean Standard Time (KST). Deadlines are set on this timezone.
  • 2,500 minimum final word count.
  • Remain anonymous. Do not share your prompt or reveal yourself to others. Authors will be anonymous until reveals.
  • PLAGIARISM is not allowed. The work will be taken down.
  • All stories must be properly tagged for sensitive prompts and/or NC-17 prompts (if applicable).
  • We do NOT operate through the host site’s messaging system. Please email us if you have any questions or requests.
  • RESPECT the prompter. If the prompt says (for example) “no bdsm”, do not include bdsm.
  • Don’t stress yourself. We are here to help you. If you need an extension or if something has happened, let us know. This fest should be fun. If it no longer is enjoyable, know that it is always okay to drop out.
  • FLAMING/HATEFUL COMMENTING is not allowed on any work. All comments considered as such will be deleted by the Mods.
  • RESPECT the author. Constructive criticism can be helpful when asked for, but understand the work the author has invested.

Rules Regarding the Entries

  • All work should be a stand-alone and MUST not be part of another series or a sequel. It should not need a sequel in order for the story to make sense. It must not be part of an existing work; nor can it be previously published work. It must be new and complete in every sense.
  • Do not publicly discuss your prompts or assignments.
  • Baekhyun/Chanyeol must be the main pairing in all entries.
  • Comply to the requests of your prompt. If you need to ask a question from your prompter, please contact the mods and we will relay your concern. Remember to always read the prompt carefully!
  • It is important that all entries must be given appropriate warnings/tags as well as appropriately rated. If you have a sensitive prompt, the mods have posted a guideline regarding this.
  • Include all html tags in your entry OR make sure your fic appears the way you’d like on AO3.
  • Please proofread your stories for spelling and grammar
  • Participants are expected to turn in their FINAL and FINISHED work on the final deadline if no other extended arrangements have been made. The mods handle all uploads of stories on the Baeconandeggs page. Authors will be tagged and credited on the day of the reveals.

Check-Ins

  • Check-Ins will be conducted through Google forms. You will need a Google email in order to check-in.
  • We will send an email to the participants a week before the check in date for further instructions.

Check In 1: 1,000 word minimum. Attach a copy of your work and your word count when checking in via Google forms.

Check In 2: 2,000 word minimum. If you need an extension, please ask before the deadline OR on the deadline date. If a participant does not check-in or contact the Mods within a given time,  the user will be dropped regardless if they successfully passed the 1st check-in.

Dropped participants will be given notice through email.

Extensions & Drop Outs

  • Extensions are granted on a case-by-case basis.
  • Fest participants may drop out at any time.
  • Participants will be dropped if they do not participate in either check-ins. Follow up emails will be given to M.I.A participants before termination.
